Chestnut Pool France is set in La Cordonniere in the tranquil Normandy countryside, a 90 minute drive from the ferry port of Caen or 4 hours from Calais.

Chestnut Pool was initially acquired 2001 by a leading couple in the carp angling world Pete & Jane Wilson who currently run Chestnut Pool in Langford (near Bedford) It was subsequently taken over in 2009 by Patrick Crompton - an avid match and carp fisherman.

Chestnut pool comprises of 2 naturally spring fed lakes set in 5 acres of Chestnut trees and has a traditional wood chalet with all the amenities for a comfortable stay for fisherman or families.

The bottom lake is well stocked with common, mirror, grass and leather carp to 40 lbs + including two catfish over 20 lbs. The top lake is smaller and has been stocked in 2009 with a large number of small common carp, mirror carp, tench, roach and perch.

Both lakes have lots of natural features, margins and islands and range depths from 3ft – 8ft. The bottom lake comfortably holds 2 anglers and possibly 3 whilst the top lake provides easier sport to catch smaller but very hard fighting carp & tench.

The chalet was built by a French timber merchant and whilst very quaint retains all the mod cons to live a comfortable life. With one Double Bedroom and one Twin Bedroom - sleeping four people in the bedrooms and possibly an additional 2 on the futon bed in the lounge, shower room, fully equipped kitchen, lounge/diner with Satellite Television & DVD player.

The chalet is set in typical rural France on the Normandy and Brittany border and is ideal for anyone looking to relax in the French countryside and sample some simple Normandy lifestyle. It is ideal for a group of carp anglers or a family looking to get away for a relaxing holiday in the French country-side.
